Position Summary

The Distance Edducation Analyst reports to the Director, Distance Education and is responsible for administration and on-going management of the learning management system (LMS) and the other instructional technologies provided by Distance Education.

Founded in 1927, the school is named after former Tennessee Governor Austin Peay, a Clarksville native. Austin Peay is a four-year public, doctoral-level university, with six colleges and four Chairs of Excellence. Austin Peay’s strategic plan focuses on five goals that will guide the University through the next 10 years. The five goals are growing enrollment, building student success, sustaining University growth, expanding diversity and enhancing communication.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

-Maintain and manage the learning management system (LMS) and instructional technology LMS integrations for the department.
- Identify, research, resolve and communicate technical issues with learning management system tools and instructional technology integrated with the LMS to internal and external stakeholders.
- Document, report and monitor all open technical cases with LMS and instructional technology vendors for the department.
-Coordinate and collaborate with institutional stakeholders to ensure LMS user and course enrollments are conducted accurately in an efficient and timely manner.
-Create and maintain LMS standard operating procedures (SOP) and document compliance with quality standards and best practices.
-Manage the Distance Education Support Desk personnel and schedule and hire student workers.
-Compile, create, review and share data, event logs and usage reports for LMS and instructional technology.
-Maintain and update ticketing templates, knowledge database articles, and service ticket reports.
- Oversee, provide recommendations, and coordinate quality assurance checks and testing of LMS and instructional technology tools, upgrades, patches and integrations.
-Train university stakeholders on how to effectively employ LMS and instructional technology features and/or tools.
-Review and communicate upcoming LMS and instructional technology release notes to Distance Education staff.
-Relate needs of faculty and students to Distance Education team and relevant vendors.
-Conduct professional development opportunities for faculty
-Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

- Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree
- A minimum of two (2) years of previous work experience in an administrative capacity with a learning management system.
-Demonstrated understanding of Windows and Apple operating systems.
-A background check will be required of the successful applicant.
