The Innovation Coordinator is responsible for supporting LG’s Factory Improvement (FI-11) Program.  FI-11 is a world class continuous improvement program used in producing LG’s award-winning washing machines.  The Innovation Coordinator reports directly to the Strategic Planning Manager and interacts regularly with cross-functional team members to promote continuous improvements throughout the factory.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports LG’s FI-11 continuous improvement program to improve manufacturing processes, procedures, and general improvements across all teams.  Methods such as 5S, lean six sigma waste reduction, basic factory management rules, benchmarking, are used to achieve improvements.
  • Provides factory floor/hands-on interactions, data collection, and regular report-out
  • Takes initiative to keep program on track, communicates upward when objectives are in jeopardy of not being met
  • Identifies opportunities and works with OPEX team members to initiate productivity improvement efforts with cross-functional factory teams
  • Completes activities in support of key performance indicators (KPI’s) for FI-11 and continuous improvement processes/programs
  • Regular report-out of FI-11 audit results and basic KPI (key performance indicator) results
  • Supports regulatory and safety compliance for all processes and teams/departments
  • Occasionally provides training in a classroom environment
