Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma. Significant experience (5+ years) related directly to position duties may be considered as a substitute for formal education

Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is the overall safe and proper operation of the gravure printing press. This position maintains and ensures the cleanliness of the print units and associated printing equipment (print trolleys, sumps, pumps, hoses, filters, parts washer, and associated washing equipment). It will also assist the Operator in order to meet both departmental and company goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform the safe and proper set-up, start-up, and shut down of the press
  • Maintain and ensure the cleanliness of the print units and associated printing equipment (print trolleys, sumps, pumps, hoses, filters, parts washer and associated washing equipment)
  • Load and unload rolls
  • Blend inks and color match as necessary to maintain continuous operation
  • Assist the operator with the identification of print defects and corrective/preventative measures to eliminate/prevent print defects
  • Must follow applicable Food Safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned to advance the mission of the Company
  • Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the pressroom
  • Ensure compliance with all EHS regulations, requirements and training
  • Assist with all job changes
  • Respond to plant emergencies (Only if a member of the 1st Alert Team)

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to lift 45-50 pounds
  • Ability to stand/walk for 8-12 hours
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and reach above shoulder level occasionally while performing necessary duties
  • Ability to work around hazardous waste/chemicals (see Addendum)
