SUMMARY
This position is responsible for operating road trucks for the receiving, distribution and
movement of waste/recycles/leachate to and from any and all locations that Bi-County
services in a safe and sanitary manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties
may be assigned.
Responsibilities include driving and operating trucks (roll-offs, front loaders,
tractor trucks pulling low-boy or tanker trailer) which require a CDL License,
Medical Card and endorsements required by DOT Standards.
Haul leachate, recycles, and trash.
May pickup, separate, or prepare recyclables for reuse.
May inspect refuse for the elimination of hazardous material from entering the
landfill.
Responsible for safety of their vehicle to comply with DOT standards.
Performs preventive maintenance and light repairs on equipment such as
changing oil, tires, lubricating, etc.
Assists in the upkeep and cleaning of equipment, shop area, break room, offices,
floors, and restrooms.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma (or GED) required with three to five years of heavy equipment
operation experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and
experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS
This position requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent
interpersonal skills, and basic computer literacy. This position requires CDL
Certification.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Incumbent must possess the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business
periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Incumbent must possess the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and
procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from
groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Incumbent must possess the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as
probability and statistical inference, and the ability to apply concepts such as fractions,
percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
