Military Transition Ambassador (Fort Campbell)

SCOPE

The Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council Military Transition Ambassador is responsible for assisting active-duty military, Veterans, and spouses through the transition process to meaningful work opportunities in Clarksville-Montgomery County Tennessee. This includes coordinating and administering self-assessments, resume assistance, interview preparation, community integration, networking with potential employers, and assisting employers’ access to transitioning active-duty military and spouses.

GENERAL DUTIES

  1. Primary point of contact for Teammates with Clarksville-Montgomery County employment opportunities.
  2. Provide assistance for transitioning military members with career opportunities Clarksville-Montgomery County.
  3. Connecting Clarksville-Montgomery County businesses with Fort Campbell Transition Services.
  4. Assist Clarksville-Montgomery County businesses access to Fort Campbell to attend weekly Employer Days and quarterly Job Fairs.
  5. Attend all weekly briefings for Service members beginning their transition process.
  6. Maintain a monthly contact log with Service Members, Veterans, Spouses to accurately report post military career interests in Clarksville-Montgomery County.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Must possess strong interpersonal relationship skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders – relationship building is a key part of this job.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Experience with performance appraisals (military or civilian) and editing resumes (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to interact with multiple governmental, private organizations, the general public and military audiences at a variety of levels with integrity and professionalism.
  • Experience with military transitions and civilian job search.
  • Comfortable working with minimal supervision.
  • Personal integrity and professional presence
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft office suite.
  • Resume writing

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Be a veteran of the active-duty component of the U.S. Armed Forces or spouse. (preferred)
  • Have 2-4 years’ work experience in a customer service or administrative support role.  (preferred)
  • Familiarity with U.S. military structure, regulations, and existing transition service programs sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Labor, Veteran’s Administration, and other compatible public and private services available within Clarksville-Montgomery County Tennessee.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field of study. (preferred)

Compensation and benefits:

  • This is a part-time job to start with 15-20 hours of work anticipated each week.
